The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET PG 2023 exam is scheduled to be held on March 5, 2023. However, candidates have been demanding the postponement of the exam, and the matter has now reached the Supreme Court of India. As per Dr. Rohan Krishnan, the National Chairman of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), students and NEET PG aspirants have filed a case in the Supreme Court seeking a delay in the exam by 2 to 3 months. The case to postpone NEET PG has also been raised in the Telangana High Court.

The Telangana High Court has asked the National Medical Commission (NMC) to consider a delay in the exam and give a decision within the next two weeks. Despite this, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had stated in the Lok Sabha on February 10, 2023, that the central government will not be postponing the NEET PG exam. The NEET PG exam will be conducted by NBE as per the schedule released. The schedule was made to get the academic year back on track after the COVID-19 pandemic.
After protests by candidates, doctor associations, and NEET PG aspirants at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) had decided to extend the NEET PG internship deadline from June 30, 2023, to August 11, 2023. The NEET MDS internship deadline was also extended to June 30, 2023.
In conclusion, the demand to postpone the NEET PG exam has reached the Supreme Court, and the Telangana High Court has asked the NMC to consider the delay. However, the Union Health Minister has stated that the exam will be conducted as per schedule. The MoHFW has extended the internship deadline to give candidates more time to complete the requirement.
